Mark Lloyd announced that this season is going to be a good one by a superb result in a tough early season tester.
Travelling up to the fens on a murky, windy and cold day, the Ely Hardriders opening season 25 mile TT wasn't going to be an easy one. Couple that with a wet and icy road surface and conditions were very tricky!
Enter Mark Lloyd, determined to put in a quick opening salvo in this years TT scene, he made his way up to the fens on his lonesome (whilst fellow TT training partner Phil Jarvis was suffering with gastric flu). Mark put in a scrorching first performance with a 25 mile time of 1:01:58 on a course that apparently made our Tendring course look smooth as silk.
Marks time was good enough to earn him 6th place in a quality field that was led home by Dan Staite in a time of 57.14.
