Brickwall Farm Cyclo Cross Report 13-09-09

First Cyclo-Cross at Brickwall Farm was a mixture of grass, gravel sand and some tough long climbs. Riders travelling round a fast circuit taking the fastest about 5 minutes.
Under 12's: James Jackson finished a fine second place. Having won last year's under 12's Cyclo-Cross series James found himself in third place for most of the race but in a fine finish he managed to pull back the second place rider to finish i minute behind race winner Tristan Price. There were fantasitic performances from other young Colchester Rovers riders Rory Smith in 14th and Daniel Hall in 17th who were both riding in their first cyclo-cross race.
Youths - under 16's: James Jobber and Ellis Smith from Colchester Rovers had a tough introduction to cyclo-cross at Sible Hedingham. Both riding their very first event put in excellent rides, James finishing 13th and Ellis 20th.
Senior Chris Cowen was the only Colchester Rover riding in the Seniors race but finished a gruelling one hour race in a fine 29th place. In the Vets category David Triggs finished 12th, Richard Jackson 18th and Peter Hall 29th place.
